They’re practically cousins. Don’t be making wedding plans for the 11 year old. I love Sophia a lot more than the mother and a bit better than the sister.
Charles and Diana were distant cousins. A lot of people are married to their third cousin and George and the Spanish princess are not that closely related.
His paternal great grandparents and her paternal grandparents are related. The blue blood has diluted a bit since they are distant cousins who married women (Queen Letitia and Princess Catherine) who are not royalty.
No, they wouldn’t, Infanta Sofia is Roman Catholic, a marriage with an heir apparent to the British throne would be illegal under English law, because the king of England is also the head of the church of England
100 years ago that would have been a consideration. it is also not out of the question now. I'm inclined to think she is going to keep her youthful good looks to attract a lot of younger men in the years to come and the prince is the future king so that alone is all he needs though I think he will have other charms as well that will attract eligible women. I don't think either will be considering political ramifications in their love life but royals do tend to bump into one another at certain kinds of events from time to time. They will likely meet again once or twice a year for some time to come.
